HOW TO RECYCLE AT URI

If you LIVE IN A RESIDENCE HALL OR APARTMENT , bring your trash and recycling outside to the nearest dumpster area. Trash goes into the dumpster and recycling goes into the appropriately labeled totes next to the dumpster. Housekeepers are responsible for trash and recycling from common areas such as the lobby, lounges and study rooms only. Recycling information is on the back of your room door or on your recycling bins.

If you are inside any ACADEMIC, ADMINISTRATIVE or ATHLETIC building at URI, look for the blue and green recycling bins. Housekeeping staff will bring your recycling outside to the nearest recycling totes.

If you are a COMMUTER you can bring your recycling to the South Kingstown Transfer Station on nearby Rose Hill Road. Recycling is free! The transfer station is open daily except Sunday until 3 pm.

THE RECYCLING TRUCK

The recycling collection truck is on campus twice a week. It's divided into 2 internal compartments. One section is for PAPER and the other is for CANS & BOTTLES. The driver empties each tote into the correct section for maximum recycling.
