Welcome to the Division of Administration and Finance at the University of Rhode Island. Our mission is to support the academic, research and outreach programs of the University by providing the most efficient and effective administrative and financial support to students, faculty, and staff. We are continually working to develop, implement, and improve upon the best practices and highest quality administrative services for the institution with special focus on collaboration, sustainability and transparency.
Departments that make up this division include: Budget and Financial Planning, Business Services (Purchasing, Public Safety, Risk Management, Property and Support Services, Facilities Services, Campus Planning and Design and Capital Projects), Controller’s Office, Human Resource Administration, Internal Audit, The Ryan Center and Boss Arena, and the W. Alton Jones Campus (Whispering Pines conference Center and the Environmental Center) and the President’s Council on Sustainability.
This office facilitates the delivery of quality services provided by these departments in order to meet the needs and mission of the University. In addition, we provide the fiscal, legal and administrative counsel to the executive offices of the University assuring that the institution operates within the financial, legal and regulatory parameters determined by the Board of Governors for the State of Rhode Island and within state and federal guidelines.
