Welcome to the University of Rhode Island Office of Capital Projects. This office has the responsibility for managing all new construction, renovation and major maintenance projects on all four campuses of the University, and delivering quality facilities which enhance the assets of the University and support the University's mission of education, research and public service.
This office, working closely with both the Office of Campus Planning and Design, and the Department of Facilities Services oversees the design development, final design, construction, commissioning, closeout, and final turnover of the projects to the benefitting department. This involves extensive planning, design, engineering and construction in an environmentally-conscious manner to ensure that the projects are delivered on schedule and within budget and, whenever possible, eligible for LEED silver certification.
The Office is staffed by project managers, some of whom are registered professionals in the fields of architecture and engineering, a business office and other office personnel.
We are continually striving to improve our ability to communicate with the campus community and allow us to understand their requirements and to deliver projects which meet the needs of the students, faculty, staff, alumni and the general public. We welcome your questions, comments, and suggestions.
