SAT/ACT
Update
The results from either the old or new SAT or
ACT with writing will be required for all freshman applicants.
For the fall 2006 entering class, the essay portion of the new SAT or ACT with
optional essay will not be used for admission decisions. The
university plans to assess what correlation exists between the essay score and first
year experience before rendering a final decision.
The admission review committee will always
consider the best results of either test in assessment of each
undergraduate application. Further, it is important for applicants
to understand that entrance examination scores are only one factor
in the overall admission process.

Princeton
Review Accolade
Recently named by
Princeton Review as “A College with a Conscience,” URI
students have unselfishly volunteered their time to numerous
organizations throughout Rhode Island. With more than 70 community

Scholarship Scams Every
year, several hundred thousand students are defrauded by scholarship
scams often imitating legitimate grant-giving foundations, education
lenders and scholarship matching services, using names containing
words like "National," "Federal," "Foundation," or "Administration."
