Scenes from the URI Office of Admissions

My URI

Name: Sarah

Majors: Chemical Engineering and French

Graduation Year: 2011

Hometown, State: Bangor, Maine

Two words of advice: Work hard (don't forget to have fun)

My personal motto is: "Don't wait for life to happen to you."

URI is unique because: It has a huge variety of trees on campus, and all of campus is beautiful.

My goal: To develop artificial organs and skin for transplant patients

My favorite food on campus: Starbuck's caramel machiato

My best URI moment (so far): Sitting on the Quad with my friends at two in the morning

My biggest surprise at URI: Every person on campus is friendly, whether student or staff

My favorite place on campus (and why): Swan Hall (because it's always filled with people and the lobby is sunny)

On the weekends I: Visit friends and, of course, do all my homework

My favorite class (and why): French Modern Culture and Literature (because I love learning about other cultures)

I selected URI because: It had the International Engineering Program, which combines my two favorite subjects; and the location is amazing

I am involved in: Tour Guides, Habitat for Humanity, SEC (Student Entertainment Committee), IEP (International Engineering Program), Honors Program
