Scenes from the URI Office of Admissions

My URI

Name: Lauren

Major: Nursing

Minor: Spanish

Graduation Year: 2011

Hometown, State: Charlestown, Rhode Island

Two words of advice: Work hard

My personal motto is: "Balance is everything."

URI is unique because: It is a big school with tons of opportunities, yet it feels like a small school.

My goal: To be a Nurse Ptractitioner

My favorite food on campus: Ice cream at Butterfield

My best URI moment (so far): Taking my first nursing course—so exciting!

My biggest surprise at URI: How quickly I adapted to living on campus

My favorite place on campus (and why): The Quad (because it's a great place to hang out, do homework, and people-watch)

On the weekends I: Study (a lot!), hang out with friends, go for walks, dance, go check out concerts at the Fine Arts Center, or go to a game.

My favorite class (and why): Human Anatomy (it challenged me and I learned what I am capable of)

I selected URI because: It has a great nursing program and there's so much to do here

I am involved in: Tour guiding, URI Ballroom Dance Team, First Year Leadership Institute, Phi Eta Sigma (Freshman Honor Society), Honors Program, University Chorus
