Scenes from the URI Office of Admissions

My URI

Name: Katie

Major: Music

Minor: Leadership, Psychology

Graduation Year: 2011

Hometown, State: North Dighten, Massachusetts

Two words of advice: Be You!

My personal motto is: "If you wait until you are unafraid to speak up, you will be speaking from your grave."

URI is unique because: It has a leadership minor as well as many other accredited programs. Also, for such a huge campus it is a very tight knit community.

My goal: Live to the fullest, always smiling and being happy.

My favorite food on campus: Yogurt and Granola.

My best URI moment (so far): Reuniting with everyone at the beginning of the next semester.

My biggest surprise at URI: Meeting so many genuine people, keeping connections and absolutely loving it here.

My favorite place on campus (and why): North Woods Challenge Course. So peaceful and it is somewhere I can make a difference.

On the weekends I: Do a lot of homework, sleep, work, and see people.

My favorite class (and why): History of Jazz and Blues. I grew up with it, love the style, great professor and just something I enjoy.

I selected URI because: Of the leadership minor and it was the best fit for my path.

I am involved in: WOWW, Challenge Course Manager/facilitator, Classics Club, Service Learning, Mentor, and Intramural Sports.
