Everyone has questions about the admission process, academics, or campus life. At URI, we want to answer yours! That's why we host online chats with admission staff and current students, so you can ask anything that's on your mind.

We offer chats for prospective students, applicants, and parents, too!

Our goal is to help you be as informed as possible so that you feel confident about your college choice.

Our Rhody Connection System

If you have never registered for an event in our Rhody Connection System, you may need to create a Rhody Connection account. The process is easy and allows you to change your plans at any time.

You may already be in our Rhody Connection System if you did one or more of the following:

  1. Completed a visit form when you came to URI
  2. Completed a white card provided by a URI representative at your school or a college fair
  3. Shared your contact information with our representative using a scanner at a college fair
  4. Completed our online form to request information

Rhody Connection Accounts

New Users

If you have never registered for an event with Rhody Connection or if you have never set up a password, following these instructions

  1. Click the gold button below
  2. Choose "register here" under the heading New Users
  3. Complete the Rhody Connection Registration Form
  4. Rhody Usernames are always the student's e-mail address
  5. We will send you an e-mail with a link to create ("reset") a custom password

Please note:

Passwords are private and we cannot retrieve them for you, but you can reset yours at any time. Each student should only have one account so it is important that students share the e-mail address they use and their custom password with a parent and/or guardian so that they can use the system, too.

Returning Users

If you have a Rhody Connection Account and you know your password, you are a "Returning User" and can log into the chat when it begins. If you are a "Returning User," but forgot your password, you will have the opportunity to reset it when you log in to the live chat.

  1. Click the gold button below
  2. Choose the "Returning Users" heading
  3. Click on the link for the live chat
  4. Choose "Reset Password"
  5. Enter your Rhody Connection Username (student's email address)
  6. We will send you an e-mail with a link to "reset" your custom password.
    You will see two boxes: one is to create the password and the other to confirm it.

Once you log in to the chat, you will create your own screen name, which is a name you want to use for the chat you are joining.

Parents and Guardians

We understand that choosing the right college involves more than the student alone. That's why we request contact information for students and a parent or guardian. The student's e-mail is the Rhody Connection Username.

There is one Rhody Connection Account for each student and we ask that you do not create a separate account for yourself because doing so may jeopardize your student receiving e-mails from us with important information. Once we begin sending those e-mails, we also send a copy of each communication to parents and guardians to help you learn more about URI and our application process along with your student. To make this work, we keep parent and guardian e-mails in the student's Rhody Connection Account.
