New England Regional Program

The New England Board of Higher Education Regional Student Program offers discounted tuition to New England Residents for a select group of majors. In most cases, the regional tuition covers all four years of the program. For some majors, however, the regional tuition does not take effect until later in the program. * Regional tuition is offered no sooner than sophomore year, after meeting requirements for acceptance into the degree granting college.

** Regional tuition does not apply until year three or junior year.

Please note: If your major is one for which the regional tuition begins after your freshman year, you should expect that any scholarships you have will be reduced to correspond to the regional scholarship rate when your tuition changes from out-of-state to regional.

Changes in program offerings do occur. Check with the URI Undergraduate Admission Office, or the New England Board of Higher Education, 45 Temple Place, Boston, MA 02111, (617) 357-9620, for the most current listing.
