Campus Tours and Information Sessions

Understanding your options

Our spring visit calendar begins February 3 and runs through April 29, 2014. We encourage you to register in advance for both a Campus Tour and an Admission Information Session so that you can make the most of your visit.

How to Register

  • Before you register, you need to login. The process is easy and allows you to change your plans at any time.
  • You may actually already be in our system from information you provided at a previous campus visit or to an admission representative at your school or at a college fair.
  • If you try to create a "New User" and receive an error message saying you are already in our system, simply select "Reset Password" under "Returning User," enter your email address, and we'll send a link allowing you to create a new password. Passwords are private and we cannot retrieve them for you, so if you misplace yours, simply reset it and create a new one.
  1. Once your are logged in, you will see the calendar and your name above it.
  2. When you find the option you like, click on that option, then click the "Register" link at the left and most fields will populate for you!
  3. Enter the number of people who will be visiting, including you, as well as any required fields and click "Register" again.
  4. If you need to change your plans, simply login as a "Returning User," go to "My Events," select "Decline" to cancel, and then click "Home" to find an option that better suits your schedule.

As a returning user, you can reschedule your visit, add information to your personal profile, and register for special events and online chats.

Campus Tours

All campus tours are walking tours led by student tour guides ready to give you a first-hand view of our beautiful campus (approximately 90 minutes). We are always prepared for rain or shine—please dress for comfort!

Please be sure to check the calendar carefully when you register. Most weekdays, tours leave at 10:00 a.m., 12:30 p.m., and 2:00 p.m. from the Admission Tour Booth in the Memorial Union.

Admission Information Sessions

At URI, our Information Sessions give an overview of the academic and other opportunities available to students. Each presenter is a professional member of admission team who will also provide you with important details about the application process specific to URI (approximately 45 minutes).  Admission Information Sessions are held most weekdays at 11:45 a.m.  They are also offered on select Saturdays.

You will also hear from current students who share their personal perspectives on student life, academics, and all aspects of the URI experience.

Please check the calendar carefully. On our busiest days, we offer separate Admission Information Sessions for high school juniors and admitted seniors. We encourage transfer applicants to attend the junior sessions. Although these Information Sessions on our busiest days are tailored to juniors or seniors, our Campus Tours may include juniors, seniors, and transfer students.

We are closed on the following dates for holidays and special events on campus:

  • Saturday, March 8
  • Monday, March 10 - Saturday, March 15 (Spring Break)
  • Saturday, March 29
  • Saturday, April 5
  • Saturday, April 12
  • Saturday, April 19
