Important News
Attention JAA Students:
Kinesiology will no longer be offered as a major for JAA students effective June 30, 2008.
Application Deadlines:
The application deadline for the fall 2008 semester has been extended for all programs except the following:
- College of Pharmacy
- Kinesiology
- Our College of Nursing is currently unable to accept transfer applications, however, the College is still accepting applications for the RN to BS program. This program requires that you have already completed an accredited registered nurse program and have an associate's degree or a diploma from a hospital nursing school.
To be invited to the June 25 Transfer Orientation all academic credential must be received in the Admission Office by June 6.
Students completing their files after June 6, will be invited to the August 6 Orientation.
Qualifications for acceptance to URI as a transfer student:
- Transfer students are those who have completed 24 or more hours of transferable college coursework.
- A minimum cumulative GPA of 2.50 is required, but most successful applicants have much higher grade point averages.
- Must be in good standing and eligible to return to institutions attended previously
- Must meet basic college-preparatory unit requirements (typically completed in High School): 4 in English, 3 in Math (Algebra I, Algebra II, and Geometry), 2 in Science, 2 in History/Social Science, and 2 units of the same foreign language.
