Keys to Successful Project Management - a Faculty Workshop |
On Tuesday, April 22, 2008, ADVANCE hosted "Keys to Succesful Project Management- a Faculty Workshop".
Managing a project, grant and/or a lab can be daunting from many angles, and understanding the scope of project management is essential to a successful researcher. Myriad balls need to be juggled, including your budget, hiring and managing students and staff, adhering to funding agency deadlines, establishing timelines, dealing with conflicts, sharing space, setting up equipment or field sites, collaborating (and getting along with!) with co-PIs, both on and off campus, accessing University resources, etc.
Facilitators include:
- Candace Oviatt, Professor, Oceanography.
- Art Gold, Professor, Natural Resources Science.
- Faye Boudreaux- Bartels, Professor and Chair, Electrical, Computer, and Biomedical Engineering.
