Peer Advising
The University College Peer Mentor is a fellow student who has probably experienced many of the issues you face as a new member of the university community. Peer mentors are available to help answer these, and many more questions. Just stop by room 108 in Roosevelt Hall to speak with a peer mentor, weekdays from 9:00 -11:30AM and 1:00-3:00PM. Ask a peer mentor about any of the following issues:
- Settling into Campus Life
- Using the E-Campus registration system
- Tips on good study habits
- Getting involved on Campus
- Discussing roommate problems
- Advice on how to best utilize campus services
- Referrals to on-campus resources and personnel
- Finding information in the URI Catalog and UC Gen Ed book
- Directing students to information on the UC Website
- Referring students to UC Advisors or appropriate UC staff members
- General Support and Encouragement
