At the AEC, we support academic achievement for all URI students. Our trained staff of peer tutors, supplemental instruction leaders, and learning specialists combine subject area expertise with an understanding of the demands of university life to provide an approach to learning that is supportive, interactive, and fun.
Our motto, Teaching is Learning, reflects the belief that powerful learning happens when students are engaged in teaching one another. At our comfortable center in Roosevelt Hall, students can study together with or without a tutor. We offer assistance with understanding coursework, practicing problem solving, and developing time management, test taking, and study skills.
The AEC also offers Supplemental Instruction support for high-risk courses, organizes and facilitates study groups, and works with faculty and staff to strengthen connections between classroom and lab learning and AEC support.
Our center is open Monday through Thursday from 10 am to 9 pm, and Friday from 10 am to 1 pm. To learn more about our services, click any of the links at the right, give us a call at (401) 874-2367, or stop by and see us on the fourth floor in Roosevelt Hall. We look forward to seeing you!
