Your expedition begins at W. Alton Jones. Check in is
2:00-3:00 on Sunday. You
will meet your group mates and expedition leaders, take a swim
test, pack all your equipment and food for your expedition,
have dinner, then participate in an all camp campfire.

On Monday, you will wake up early and drive via 15-passenger
van to Franconia Notch in the White Mountains of New Hampshire
(about a 3.5 hour drive).
You will set up a base camp in Lafayette Campground,
which features flush toilets, showers, and rustic tenting
areas. Sleeping
will be in same sex 3-6 person tents for the duration of the
week. After setting up camp, you may have time for a quick hike
before dinner.

Tuesday will be dedicated to a day hike through Franconia.
There are many options in this area of The Whites, and
your exact route will depend on group ability and interest.
Whatever your hike, prepare for scenic views and
wilderness, perhaps even heading above tree line for some
breathtaking views. You
will bring lunch with you, returning to your base camp in the
evening.

On Wednesday, you will go rock climbing on some of the
world-renowned granite cliffs of the New Hampshire White
Mountains.
Varieties of routes, from beginner to expert, are all
close together, so prepare for routes that are challenging,
yet within your abilities.
We will start out with an introductory workshop for
those who are new to the sport.
After a hard day of climbing, we’ll cool off with a
dip in a cool mountain lake.

Thursday
morning, after a hearty breakfast, we will drive to the
Pemigawesset River (about a 20 minute drive), where we will
spend the day river kayaking through its beautiful flatwater
and exciting class I and II rapids.

On Friday, your trip will culminate with a simulated sky
diving experience at Skyventure, a vertical wind tunnel in
Nashua, NH. The
wind tunnel allows you to safely experience the thrill of
skydiving without the falling sensation.
Check out a video of
simulated skydiving--although we won't be doing all the
advanced stunts shown--as well as additional information. Anyone who has dislocated their shoulder in the past will have
to pass on the sky dive activity. We will then head back to Alton Jones in time to clean
and pack away group gear, pack up our personal belongings, and
head home. Check
out is at 3:00 on Friday.
