The Land

  • Enjoy ten miles of hiking trails through forest, open fields, and wetlands.

  • The 100 acre Nettie Marie Jones Nature Preserve is home to many rare and uncommon plants and wildflowers.

  • The campus adjoins one of the largest tracts of undeveloped land in Southern New England including more than 40,000 acres in the Arcadia Management Area and Pachaug State Forests.

  • An Environmental Research Area of over 1,000 acres is dedicated to scientific research on the natural environment. Scientists from throughout the region including the University of Rhode Island, the Massachusetts Institute of Technology & NASA have ongoing projects in the Research Area.

  • One of the largest sugar maple groves in Rhode Island.



  • Lake Eisenhower

  • A 75 acre lake for swimming, kayaking, or canoeing

  • Over 20 canoes to explore the coves, beaver lodge, and islands

  • Over 25 species of fish, amphibians, reptiles, and birds make the lake their home

  • Goats, Chickens, Pigs, Sheep, Rabbits, and Ducks.

  • A family cemetery dating back to the late 1700's.

  • Rocky New England pastures and stone wall fences.

  • A classroom facility with a kitchen and bathrooms.
