Whispering Pines Conference Center

You will discover that Whispering Pines is different from any other conference center or hotel the moment you enter the main guest house. Upon arrival, you will walk into a warm country living room complete with fieldstone fireplace, early American furnishings, and find a gracious staff waiting to be of service.

Whispering Pines Conference Center is an executive retreat that provides a refreshing setting for concentration and creative thinking. W. Alton Jones, a former president of Cities Service, parent company of the CITGO gasoline stations, and an outdoors enthusiast, once owned the 2,300 acre site and used it as a private hunting and fishing retreat. Mr. Jones hosted meetings at the site with such dignitaries as President Eisenhower and the King of Nepal.

Today the Whispering Pines Conference Center is part of the W. Alton Jones campus of the University of Rhode Island. It is a quiet, secluded West Greenwich, Rhode Island location that ensures your meeting participants can think, work, and cooperate in a distraction-free environment that is conducive to helping you achieve your meeting goals.
