Graduate Research Assistant - Common Ground


Master’s Thesis: My thesis, utilizing data from the Transitions project,  will examine whether individual differences moderate the effects of a brief motivational intervention and a parent-based intervention.

 

Research Interests: I am interested in the etiology of alcohol use in young adulthood and how this information can be used to inform prevention and intervention programs.

Master’s Thesis:  Mindfulness and substance abuse in a college student sample: Measurement issues and exploratory findings.

 

Research Interests: College Student Drinking, The integration of eastern and western treatments for addiction and mental illness, the cross-cultural and historical understanding of addiction, and motivational interviewing as an intervention technique for increasing positive health-related behavior.

Research Competency: Examining the correspondence of parent and teen reports as predictors of student alcohol use and problems.

 

Research Interests: My research interests include psychological factors contributing to the etiology of alcohol use disorders.  In addition, I am interested in examining cross-cultural influences in the development of alcohol use disorders and in treatment seeking behavior.
