The Department of Art has spacious studios in the Fine Arts Center for
painting and drawing, sculpture (plaster, clay, woodworking, welding), and
printmaking, including an offset lithographic press. Photography, filmmaking
and video arts are taught in newly renovated studios which include a screening
room equipped with a digital projector, 16-mm and Super-8 projectors, darkroom,
film editing room, shooting studio, and several computer stations with a
printer and large format scanner. Classes in digital media, computer art,
design, and animation are held in the Fine Arts Center Computer Lab or a
specially equipped computer classroom we share with the Department of Computer
Science. The Department of Art has a Slide Library with an extensive collection
to support classes in art history and studio art.
Employment opportunities are available for students in the Department
as shop monitors, Slide Library, and Art Office assistants or to work with
the Director of the Fine Arts Center Galleries as exhibition assistants
or gallery guards. |
