Jeff Bertwell received his BFA from the University of Rhode Island and trained as a Master Printer at the Tamarind Institute, University of New Mexico, Albuquerque, receiving a Teachers' Certificate. After working in New York for Eleanor Ettinger, he returned to Rhode Island to start his own printing business, Queen's River Press, located in Wakefield, RI. He printed editions for numerous artists including Fritz Eichenberg, Robert Petersen, Leslie Bostrom, Ernie Silva, Bart Parker and Don Bousquet.
Bertwell designed the logo for the Point Judith Fisherman's Scholarship Fund and in 2005 he also created a commissioned bronze relief for the Fisherman's Memorial, Point Judith. He has recently turned to drawing as a medium for his own work and shows regularly in Rhode Island, most recently in the Corridor Gallery at URI, the Helme House Gallery, Kingston and the Atrium Gallery, Providence.
