"Translations/Transgressions" imageInstallation View: Tranlations/Transgressions, Main Gallery

The premier Main Gallery is the largest exhibition space of the complex constituting the Fine Arts Center Galleries. It is trapezoidal in nature, providing for eccentrically congruent installation schemes. A nearly 13 foot ceiling, concrete floor and recently refurbished sheetrock walls accomodate a range of media presented through contemporary one-person, two-person and group exhibitions. Main Gallery exhibitions of a multicultural nature have been routinely developed for recent summer calendars, when an entirely public audience frequents the Fine Arts Center.

ECCENTRIC LANDSCAPE

January 28 - March 9

Curated by J. Tolnick, this exciting thematic group landscape exhibition is the latest in her series of group thematic exhibitions identifying various prominent currents in contemporary visual culture. "Eccentric Landscape" features 10 nationally recognized painters and sculptors engaged in idiosyncratic landscape practice, manifesting unusual formats and materials. Real and imagined, formally conceived and gesturally executed landscapes will be juxtaposed.

Illustrated brochure accompanies the exhibition.
