Large Format Printing
Information Regarding Both printers:
- Images equal to or smaller than 8.5'' by 11'' may be rejected due to size limitation.
- Exception: Multiple images printed out on the same sheet that individually are smaller than 8.5" by 11"
Information Regarding the HP Design Jet:
- Accepts paper up to 42 inches wide.
- Non Archival
- CMYK Color spectrum. Colors may print out differently then they appear on screen.
- Note: Currently, the quality of prints is acceptable but due to the settings of the printer or the ink quality, the image's color is noticeably off when put in direct, bright light. They exhibit a grey/green overtone. If anyone knows information to fix this issue, it is greatly appreciated.
Information Regarding the Epson:
- Accepts paper up to 44 inches wide.
- Archival ink.
- Larger Color Spectrum, Higher quality Ink.
- Higher Quality Resolution.
- Professional Quality
Pricing:
Images will be priced to the nearest square Inch.
Currently, cash is the only accepted method of payment.
$3 Per square foot. (Some forms list the incorrect price)
- Draft Prints
If a student would like to see how the image would look at the desired size,draft prints can be printed on the HP. These will be printed in low resolution on plain white paper.
Application Process: How do I apply to use the printers?
- Attached bellow is the current application form. Students must fill in all the fields as best they can.
- Applications that do not have a student ID as well as both signatures and a contact method, may be rejected.
- The pricing portion of the application may be filled in at the printer after the application has been accepted. The applicant should be aware of the cost and have the correct amount in cash in order to print.
- Students can hand in applications two ways.
- Put in the print application box hanging up on the door of F204.
- Hand in to the printer monitor in F103 during lab hours.
- Applications may take up to 3 days to be approved or denined. Applications to print on the Epson may take longer.
- Students will be contacted via email when their application is approved/rejected, as well as recieve the exact cost of the print.
- If a student can not make it durring lab hours they may negociate a time with the monitor.
- After an application is approved the student may come to F103 during print hours to print. They are expected to have a way to access the digital image. Flash Drives, CD, Emails, ect at all acceptable.
- Students who wish to print out multiple images (not copies of the same image) must fill out a separate sheet for each image.
