Twig and Branch Project

Working in groups, students constructed a stable, free standing voluminous form out of twigs and branches found in wooded areas on campus. The challenge was to build a sculpture that can successfully support itself at a height of 9 feet. Students began the project by individually building a 3 foot model to act as an introduction to the techniques needed to tie and brace the materials for a structurally sound object.
