Faculty Research Grants
Grants are available to assist faculty in the humanities who expect to incur specific research costs, such as costs associated with travel to archives, the purchase of technology, payment for translations, and obtaining documents for study. Research grants are awarded for amounts up to a maximum of $1,000 per year.

Faculty Sabbatical Fellowships
Fellows are chosen from among those faculty members awarded sabbatical leaves for one or both semesters of the next academic year and who will be doing research in the humanities. Fellowships are awarded for amounts up to $1,750.

Graduate Research Grants
Grants of up to $1,000 are available to students working toward the completion of masterç—´ thesis and doctoral dissertations within the traditional humanities disciplines, as well as from other disciplines provided the research is clearly grounded in the humanities.

Junior Faculty Fellowships
Limited funding is available for junior faculty in the humanities who are seeking a course release to help complete a research project.

Subvention Grants
A limited amount of funding is available to assist faculty in the humanities working with a scholarly press or exhibitor that requires the author to share in the cost of publication or exhibition. Grants are awarded for amounts up to a maximum of $1,000 per faculty member per project.

Grants for Visiting Scholars
Funding is available for bringing scholarly speakers in the humanities to the URI campus, for events that are free and open to the public. Preference for funding is given to those events involving students in one or more classes. Funding from the Center for each event is limited to amounts up to a maximum of $500.
