This course is designed to teach introductory principles
of directing readers’ theatre. Since
each of you is expected to design, script and direct a performance, you will be
assigned to a group. In that group you
will be staged in the other member’s performances and they will perform in
“your” presentation.
Simply put: Four people in a group
Approximately four groups per class
Each group presents four times
Each person performs 3 times
Each person directs once.
Grading: 1. First performance – 50 points
2. Second performance- 50 points
3. Third performance – 50 points
4. Directing your own presentation – 100
points
5. 5-page Analysis of philosophy of directing 75 points
6. Director’s Journal – 50 points
7. Attendance and Class Participation – 25
points
Total Possible Points – 400
*More than three unexcused
absences will adversely effect your grade.
