Nancy Burns-Fusaro is an instructor in the Communication Studies Department. Since 2003, she has taught classes in Public Speaking, Interpersonal Communication (both online and face-to-face), Small Group Communication and Communication Fundamentals. Her primary interests are in writing, online and web-based communication, social networking, public relations, and print and online journalism. She works at the Westerly Sun as a features writer, columnist and editor. She is also an elected official for the Town of Westerly, serving as the Chairwoman for the School Committee. For many years she lived on the island of Nantucket, a place she continues to hold tremendously dear. Although Boston born and Boston bred, she has adopted Westerly, Rhode Island as her hometown. She has been married to Westerly native Samuel Fusaro for the last 24 years and has three sons; Alexander Killie, Samuel John Fusaro, Jr. and Paul Edward Fusaro; one daughter-in-law, Dr. Heather C Killie; and one grandson, Dylan Alexander Killie.
