Course Aims and Philosophy


This class is designed to introduce you to some of the quantitative methods used to explore human communication. After completing this class, you should be able to understand the methods sections of most quantitative journal articles in communication. You will understand how the results reported in a journal article support (or fail to support) the claims of the investigators. You will also develop the skills necessary to perform basic tests on hypotheses or research questions that you have formulated. This class is skills-oriented.
