The Department of Communication Studies and The Department of Journalism cooperate to offer the interdisciplinary major in Public Relations. The program combines a liberal arts education with the skills important for a successful career in public relations. Students earn a Bachelor of Arts degree in Public Relations, or they may declare a minor. Although students can declare the major when they enter URI or at another point while in University College, acceptance into the major in the College of Arts & Sciences is by application only. Regina Bell of the Communication Studies Department currently administers the program.
