Final Exam is in a two-part format:
I. Essay
II. Trial
Essay: Choose one question. You will be given one hour from 3:00-4:00 p.m.to work on computers in Room 308. Then we will proceed to the trial on Othello. Any student who is late will not be given additional time.

The Questions:
1) Within the norms of Elizabethan society, discuss the role of women and the ways in which Shakespeare's women follow or eschew these norms.
2) How would Henry V respond to the George Bush war with Iraq?
3) Discuss the differences and similarities between and among the comedies and tragedies. How do they reflect Shakespeare's thematic foci?
You may bring your text, notes of any research you will cite and a blank disc. At the conclusion of the hour, you will e-mail the document to jswift@uri.edu. You will then be given 30 minutes to finalize trial preparations. From 4:30-5:30, you will complete the trial and analysis and discussion will follow 5:30-6:00. All students must submit a statement of work completed toward the final project as part of a master list to be submitted by the class during the final exam.
The Trial:
The content of the trial is yours to organize but recognize that you must show complete familiarity with the play, thorough character analysis and a distinct understanding of the norms within the play.
