Professor Anderson joined the Economics Department in 2011 after completing his Ph. D. from Colorado State University. His primary research is in the fields of Development and International Economics in which he explores the idiosyncratic nature of poverty trap thresholds in the least developed regions of the globe.
Dr. Anderson teaches Economic Growth & Development, International Economics, and Principles of Economics. Before coming to URI, Dr. Anderson was the recipient of the “Excellence in Teaching Award” at Colorado St. University for the 2010-2011 academic year. In his own words, his primary goal as an educator “is to facilitate the entire learning process by example and with enthusiasm.”
