John P. Burkett

Professor, Department of Economics and Department of Environmental and Natural Resouce Economics. Ph.D., University of California, Berkeley, 1981. Professor
Burkett has taught at Brown University, Kiev State University, and the University of
California and held research positions at the Brookings Institution, the Economics
Institute of Zagreb, Harvard University, and the University of
London. His publications
include Microeconomics: Optimization, Experiments, and
Behavior (Oxford University Press, 2006)
and articles in
journals such as Economica , Economics Letters, European Economic
Review, History of Political Economy, Journal of
Comparative Economics, and Review of Economic Studies. His current interests
include Bayesian econometrics, behavioral and experimental economics, health economics, and
international economics.
He is the executive director of the Institute
for the Study of International Aspects of Competition,
past president of the URI chapter of the
Phi Beta Kappa Society, and on the
editorial board of Economic Change and Restructuring.
