Why should you spend a semester in a course "Made in China?" What is it that makes China so "special" and warrants the endless supply of articles and books on China and you spending your valuable time this semester on a course devoted to the study of this country? This assignment will provide you with an opportunity to express your ideas in a written report and in a classroom presentation. It is also your first team project, so you need to pick a partner for the report and presentation. As you answer this question think of this as an opportunity to make a good first impression - and an opportunity to make the case for getting your topic put onto the course syllabus. So be prepared to defend your ideas and convince us that your topic is important enough for us to look into in more depth during the semester. The requirements are that the report can be a max of 2 pages and the presentation can be a max of 5 minutes. As you prepare for your work you might want to check out the guides to Writing and  Speaking and keep in mind that you will bring in a hard copy of your report AND email me a copy that will be posted to the class web site - so make sure it is ready for prime time.
