Important dates

Class sessions begin Wednesday, September 7, 2005
Sessions available are:

Tuesday at 2 and 6 PM
Wednesday at 10AM, 2PM, 5PM and 6 PM

All classes meet in Washburn Hall # 20.
Fall 2005 Semester Calendar:

September 7 Classes Begin
Sept. 14 Application Deadline
Sept. 16 Background Check Deadline
Sept. 17 Training 8:30-12:30 Multicultural Center*
Week of Sept. 26 Start Work in Schools
Week of December 5 Last Week in Schools
Week of Dec. 12 Make-up Hours
Dec. 16 at Noon All Materials Turned In

Failure to attend the training or meet the background check deadline will result in the intern being dropped from the program.

Fall 2005 Important Dates for Teachers:

 

Date Event
September 12 Deadline for teachers to sign up for an intern (please contact your school representative, most often your school principal or Cherie Aiello directly)
Sept. 17 MTI training at the URI Multicultural Center* (8:30AM-12:30PM)
Sept. 26 Interns begin work in schools
October 17 Quick Check Assessment distributed to teachers by Interns
November 28 Evaluations distributed to teachers
December 5 MTI students last week in schools
Week of Dec. 5 Please return evaluations 
Dec. 12 Make-up Week (interns who are missing hours can make them up with the teachers' consent)

Spring 2005 Important Dates for Teachers:

Week of April 18: Public Schools on Vacation
Week of April 25: Evaluations distributed to teachers via the Interns
Week of May 2: MTI students last week in the schools
May 2: Please return evaluations
Week of May 9: Make-up Week (interns who are missing hours can make them up with the teacher's consent)

*Directions to the Multicultural Center: take Upper College Road- left at first stop sign (Campus Ave.)- Park in Green Hall parking area to the right (.1mi)- walk down the hill- take a right on to Lower College Road walk straight through the rotary, past Memorial Union to the brick building with the bronze statue of Dr. Hadge in front of it (the Multicultural Center).
