Documentary Pre-production
This course examines history of the documentary, methods of documentary filmmaking, and ethics. Students will complete written film analysis projects
and exercises in order to gain an understanding of elements of effective storytelling in nonfiction film. Production
processes, techniques, planning, and creation are discussed in-depth.
Students will research and write a proposal on a serious documentary topic.

COM342 Documentary Production Prerequisite: Com 341, or equivalent
Documentary production is learned through shooting and compostition excersizes, non-linear editing exercises, lighting lectures and demonstration,
and audio lecture and demonstration. Students will complete a short documentary
on a topic developed and researched in "Documentary Pre-Production." The
final documentary will be students own work researched
and formally proposed in COM341 "Documentary Pre-production." For information,

COM445 Television Advertising
Examination of theory and practice in television advertising. Students
will acquire and analyze commercials made by professionals and create and
