Dr. Zorabedian's doctoral work at Boston University involved the cultural importance and impact of film. He has worked as a film critic for several publications, and also as an independent film and video producer. Before coming to URI, he was Assistant Professor of Communication at Rhode Island College, teaching film history as well as film and television production.

UNDERSTANDING THE FEATURE FILM follows the histoy and cultural development of cinema as well as the craft of film production. REBEL IMAGES IN AMERICAN FILMS examines the impact of the rebel images in cinema, especially those films dealing with the 1960s/70s protest era. IMAGES OF MASCULINITY IN AMERICAN CINEMA explores the concept of masculinity as portrayed by male film characters from John Wayne, Clint Eastwood and Marlon Brando to Woody Allen, Johnny Depp and beyond. Emphasis is on the male "hero," male-female relationships, and other relevant issues.
