Ian Reyes with students in sound lab

When Assistant Professor Ian Reyes plays video games, he really listens carefully to the sound. Many people underestimate the power of music, audio and sound as a key feature of the digital media environment.

As a member of the Communication Studies department, Professor Reyes uses digital tools to create audio and examines the relationship between technology, culture, and society in order to better understand and critique everyday experiences with entertainment media.

Rebecca Romanow and Keith Brown have developed an innovative new two-course sequence in the Film/Media program in Spring 2012.
