Steven Malkiewicz is director of communications and marketing for IBM Research and Intellectual Property. His responsibilities include branding; public policy reform initiatives; workforce and site communications; external communications, and new media and Web-based initiatives.
He has previously held executive communications and media relations positions in IBM’s global product, services, sales and corporate headquarters organizations. Prior to joining IBM he worked as an award-winning journalist for several New England newspapers.
He graduated from the University of Rhode Island with degrees in journalism and communications. He is the IBM partnership executive for URI, and also sits on the Board of Trustees for the Connecticut National Multiple Sclerosis Society, where he serves on their public policy advocacy and Dinner of Champions committees.
He lives with his wife Cheryl and their two boys in Stamford, Connecticut.
