Summer Internship Procedures

Summer internships must last a minimum of 10 weeks. Start and stop dates are negotiated between student and placement.

Students must complete the Internship Application.

Any student who plans to graduate in August must register for Directed Study to get JOR 345 credits. The form is available from the CCE office at Hart House.

Students who will be returning for the Fall semester but who will be taking 16 or more credits (not including internship credits) must register for Directed Study. The form is available at Hart House.

All other students returning for the Fall semester will not register for Directed Study. Instead, you will sign a contract with Dr. Silvia that provides

1. approval of your internship for credit
2. a record-keeping procedure for logging your hours
3. a mechanism for your workplace supervisor to evaluate your work at the end of the summer
4. a description of what will be required of you in the Fall, when you must enroll in JOR 345.

No one will be allowed credit for a summer internship without a signed Internship Contract!
