Process

Please first read the information about our URI media server. This will prevent you from making mistakes during the processing and posting of your media. 

Accounts are available only to faculty, instructors and staff.

To request an account on the URI media server, print this web page, complete the items listed below and mail to the address listed below.

Faxed applications will also be accepted (Fax numbers: 401-874-9135 / 401-874-4694).

This form will provide the necessary information to set-up an account on the media server maintained by TOPS (Technical & Operational Services). Your account information will be forwarded to you via the email address you list which must be a URI address, (postoffice.uri.edu, uri.edu, mail.uri.edu,etc).

If you have any questions, please address them via email to the server administrator.

We do not accept email applications.

8. What type of computer did you use to process your audio or video files? Windows or Macintosh?

 

9. What program will you use to digitize your audio or video? (i.e., Macromedia Peak, Final Cut Pro, Adobe Premiere, etc.) 


10. What program will you use to compress your audio or video for the web? (i.e., Sorenson Video, Media Cleaner Pro, QuickTime Pro, etc.) 



11. What file format will you use for your audio or video files? (examples: .mov,  .wav,. avi, .mp3) 



12. What name would you like for your account on the server? (e.g, News for News Bureau) 



13. What password would you like?  The password should be no more than 8 alphanumeric characters and it should not contain any spaces or special characters (commas, periods, accent marks, etc). 

 

14.  Do you need student access password protected?  (If so, please provide a single username and password that would be used by all your students.)
