Your Minuteman Library card
provides you with borrowing privileges at 35 public libraries as well as
access to the collections of 6 academic libraries located to the west of
Boston. Through the Minuteman Library Network you have access to over 5.5
million items, including books, cassettes, compact disks, and videos. The
sharing of resources is made possible by a computerized system which
includes an online catalog and circulation control. You are able to locate
material by author, title, subject, or keyword and to see whether an item is
currently on the shelf or checked out. With the computerized system you may
reserve material that is checked out or request that an item be sent to your
library from another library in the network.
Minuteman also allows access to a number of other resources, including periodical indexes, a Health Resources database, and the Minuteman Information and Referral Database. Take a look: electronic sources. |
