It took me three years to figure out that I didn't want to be a journalist. Fortunately, as an aspiring writer and the eventual editor of the arts and entertainment section, I also learned about the adrenaline of deadlines, the voo-doo of insomnia, the sex appeal of puns, and the treachery of first impressions.
