INTRODUCTION TO INFORMATION SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY
------------------------------------------------------------------------
WebCT Discussion

A major component of this course is the discussion that takes place on WebCT. The discussion feature will be used to discuss the topic(s) of each week with other members of the class. You will be expected to make at least one contribution to the discussion each week (at least ten discussion postings) to receive a "B" (8.5 points) for this component of the class.

The discussions should pertain to the assigned readings for that week, to ask questions of concern to the whole class, or it can be used to provide information to all other members of the class. Information obtained from articles read for the annotations will often provide valuable discussion material. Your participation in the discussions will account for 10% of your final grade.

WebCT email may also be used for small group or individual communication. Chat rooms are also available for real-time conversations with others in the class. Chat sessions will be scheduled on one evening of the second and third weeks of the course. These chat sessions are optional and will be used to ask questions about assignments for the course, grading,or anything else pertaining to the course that is not clear to you. Other chat sessions may also be scheduled as needed.

Due: at least one contriubtion to the discussion every week beginning 9/7/08 and ending 12/9/08
