6. discuss at least four problems common to information retrieval systems.
7. list the basic components of an information retrieval system. describe what a data base management system is.
8. define and describe file, record, field and character in relation to a data base.
9. describe and discuss at least three basic data base structures.
10. use a systematic approach to designing a data base.
As a result of watching the DBMS video, you will:
1. describe what a data base management system is.
2. define and describe file, record, field and character in relation to a data base.
3. describe DOS and identify ways to perform various functions on your computer using DOS.
