Course Description
This course provides an introduction to instructional design, development, and motivation theories and their application in producing instructional materials, including emerging technology in library and information environments.
Course Objectives
As a result of this course, you will: 1. define, describe and discuss theories and principles of human learning, teaching, and instructional design. (GSLIS: 1, 2, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, 16, 17, 19, 20, 21; RIDE: 1, 2, 3, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11)*
2. design effective, efficient, and appealing instruction using instructional design principles. (GSLIS: 1, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, 16, 17, 19, 20, 21; RIDE: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11)*
3. discuss the characteristics of text, graphics, photographs, audio, amd video and associated hardware in instructional and informational settings. (GSLIS: 1, 4, 5, 6, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, 16, 19, 20, 21; RIDE: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 8, 9, 10, 11)*
4. plan, produce and evaluate a hypermedia presentation for instructional or information purposes. (GSLIS: 1, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, 16, 17, 19, 20, 21; RIDE: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11)*
5. plan, produce, present, and evaluate a lesson using a systems approach. (GSLIS: 1, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, 16, 19, 20, 21; RIDE: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11)*
