Instructional Technology in Library and Information Services

Objectives: 9/6/06
As a result of this class, you will:
1. prepare annotations of journal articles of 50 words or less and include
proper bibliographic information.
2. use the ASSURE or other appropriate instructional development model
to plan, design and produce an instructional, training, or promotional
hypermedia presentation using PowerPoint, HyperStudio, HyperCard or some
other hypermedia program
.
3. use the ASSURE model to plan, design, and present a presentation in
class involving media and presenting a topic directly relating to the
course. This assigment may be done individually or in a small group of
two or three students.
4. use WebCT.
5. describe and discuss the basic concepts of Carrol's Model
of School Learning, B.F. Skinner's Theories of Learning, Information Processing
Theory, Piaget's Theory of Cognitive Development of Children, Bruner's
Learning as Discovery, Constructivism, Domains of Learning, Bloom's Theory
of Optimal Instrcution, Rotter's Locus of Control, the concept of Left
Brain/Right Brain, and Gagne's Events of Learning and discuss how they
relate to instructional theory.
