INFORMATION DESIGN
------------------------------------------------------------------------
Annotations Assignment

Because it is very important that you gain an understanding of the issues and challenges of information design in the world today, you are to read fifteen (15) current articles (post 2000) on topics of the course and write an annotation for each article. Each annotation will be a maximum of 50 words. You will cite the article using the APA format (see Electronic Reference Formats Recommended by the American Psychological Association , Electronic Reference Formats Recommended by the American Psychological Association , and/or Examples of APA-style citations - PDF document). Each article chosen should reflect the topic for the week and should be done by the date assigned (see Course Outline). Each annotation will be worth one (1) point toward your final grade (total of 15%).

The annotations should be submitted in hardcopy, attached to WebCT emails to me, or posted on your personal website. Attaching these files in a WebCT email in rich text format (rtf) usually works best if you use a program other than MicroSoft Word.

For the first four annotations only, you may use my suggestions to resubmit any with grades less than one to raise the grade to one point. The last eleven annotations cannot be upgraded from a grade less than one but you will be expected to make the suggested changes on your website.

When all annotations have been submitted, you should provide me with a complete list of all fifteen annotations and you will be given a cummulative grade for the overall quality of the articles used. This grade (5%) will be based on the appropriateness of the articles to the topic for the week, the depth of the articles (not all one page articles), the variety of journals used, and the overall quality of the annotations you have written.
