Course Description

Provides an introduction to the analysis, planning, presentation, and evaluation of effective communication through the use of tools and theories of communication, and message, instructional, and information design.

Course Objectives

As a result of this course, you will:

  1. define, describe and discuss the concept and characteristics of information design. (GSLIS: 1, 2,4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, 16, 17, 20, 21; RIDE: 1, 2, 3, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11)*

    discuss digital convergence and its affects on library and information services. (GSLIS: 1,2, 4, 5, 6, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 15, 17, 21; RIDE: 1, 2, 3, 4, 8, 9, 10, 11)*|

    discuss the characteristics of text, graphics, photographs, audio, amd video. (GSLIS: 1, 5, 10, 21; RIDE: 1, 2, 3, 8, 9, 10)*
