INFORMATION ARCHITECTURE

Some Useful Resources at URI

Following are some things to do to be prepared for this course:

1. Get your URI email account.

The Office of Information Services provides Internet support for electronic mail, World Wide Web, dialup access to Internet from home, mailing list LISTSERV, news server, Web publishing...etc. to URI faculty, staff, and registered students.

2. Join GSLIS student listserv.

If you haven't joined the GSLIS listserv, you should. This is the primary source for information valuable to all GSLIS students, whether you are matriculated or not.

3. If you access the the Internet from an Internet Service Provider other than URI you must use the HELIN Proxy Server  for full access to available databases.  You will be prompted for your name and library barcode.

Computer Facilities on the URI Campus

You can finish your projects in any computer labs on campus or at home. The Information Technology Instruction Lab in Library Room 107 is equipped with the most up-to-date hardware and software for GSLIS education.
