The University of Rhode Island Special Libraries Association Student Group exists to provide networking and professional development opportunities for students interested in careers in special libraries. We strive to develop leadership abilities and further understanding of the opportunities that special libraries hold; as well as further the competencies necessary for working in special libraries.

Are you librarian with an MLIS and some time to share mentoring a student? Do you have a special skill set that you feel someone beginning in the field would benefit in learning about?
If you answered yes to any of these questions the URI student SLA chapter may have the program you might be looking for... the MENTOR PROGRAM!
The Mentor Program is designed to match one student/new professional to a working MLIS professional for the academic 2008/2009 year.
