URI has one of the largest French programs (in number of majors) in the country.
The majority of URI French majors are double or triple majors and the majority finish in four years. There are 47 different majors that have been combined with French at URI.
French Majors enrolled in the International Engineering Program (IEP) or in the French and Pharmacy program receive two degrees in five or six years and complete a six-month paid internship in France or Québec (IEP), or two of their three rotations in Rennes, France (Pharmacy).
The majority of French majors study abroad during their junior year and/or during a summer session.
Our recent alumni are employed in a wide range of fields in North America and Europe, and are offered admission (often with full financial support) in some of the most prestigious graduate programs in the world.
Congratulations to the 2011 French Award winners!
